Happy Birthday Karen and Happy Thanksgiving Weekend from Larry and Henry

We listened to some of Karen's favorite
songs, some political radio, ate cannolis in her honor and snuggled...

Weekend to everyone...

Hi, Karen. I miss you, too. No, NOT just because you used up a lot of Floraine's phone energy! GEEZ! It was nice you were both attached to the phone, though. I can't stand the bloody thing. Managed to let my cellphone run out of juice right on the type of occasion I would really need it -- meaning when Floraine or my mother's plans depended on knowing when I got off the plane. Could I have mustered 2 quarters for a pay phone? I didn't even think of pay phones. Pay phones did not exist in my O'Hare Airport, only my dead cellphone and a decision: Keep her waiting even longer until I could find a working socket and then charge enough to talk. Or...just get in a cab and go. Right or wrong, I heard about it (not too much) --I went for the cab. (I had already tried to find a socket -- the first 2 I tried I located were dead -- that's where I met the teacher, who was trying to charge his Vaio.) the phone charged and then (of course I had gotten involved in a conversation with a teacher who works in Washington Heights, so I was already running 1/2 hour late)

This is all neither here nor there, except that it is your birthday, and a day to celebrate you. I've always admired the care you took to put travelling and communicating as much in your own control as possible -- your plane, your car, your GPS, and your in-car charging apparatus for your phone and computer come immediately to mind. (You will laugh here -- in honor of you at the airport today, I swear, I tried to buy one of these neat adaptors that lets you charge your phone with a AA battery. Neat, right? My phone -- purchased during THIS YEAR'S BASEBALL SEASON (betw. April and October) --is a weird exception in that it's "female" receptor takes none of the many many Samsung tips that IGO makes (great on-the-go products for computers -- one of the first to see the need for several hours of emergency computer power and secondarily phone power as an everyday need -- I've been meaning to see if they are publically traded with Floraine.) So, I thought I'd spend a little more money and allow myself to car-power the oooolllllddddd computer I've been demoted to on the long ride to work in the car service that Floraine so generously contributes to every day. But this was not an option either. This computer is so old that the salesman couldn't find the model number on it. Finally I did (not easy) The only car powering device that IGO makes (there may be other companies, and I will look) that will power this computer also charges it. Therefore it costs $150!!!!! WITHOUT THE RIGHT TIP TO FIT THE "FEMALE" RECEPTOR POINTS!!! I can order those, however! And, guess what, Karen! It will charge my phone, too! ONLY IF I can find the right TIP!

TIPS?? FEMALE RECEPTORS?? I just thought you'd have something entertaining to say about this. I wish I could hear it.

You would be so proud of Floraine. She is so naturally interested in certain kinds of investing, and she kind of inhaled the big picture of several different aspects of investment all on her own. She knows way more than I do. I know she wishes she'd known there was a side to it like this back when it was baseball vs the market. And I HOPE I got her to agree with me that we'd have gotten you to Yankee Stadium by now, especially since Steinbrenner seems bent on playing in a new one.

Anyway, I shouldn't tie up my mother's phone line. She sent both Floraine and me a long Thanksgiving E-card that neither of us read on our own. I sat through it with her in person, and I can see why my mom wants Floraine to hear/see it. Could you give her a nudge?

And, Floraine, (and everyone else reading this!) I hope your flu-ey thing is lighter and your aches a little lighter too, though I know they're ongoing. MEOWW.

Love,
Sharon and CASSIE
