Cassie is my friend Sharon's cat. She followed her ex-husband home one day in the snow. At the time, he was living with difficult roommates, so one day, Sharon came over, swooped in and got her. She lived with Sharon's first cat, Queequeg, for a bit, but they're marriage was too tempestuous, so Sharon's mom brought her home to Illinois and they had a nice life together. When Sharon's mom passed away, Sharon brought Cassie back. Queequeg has since gone over the rainbow bridge, though his presence is felt everyday. I think Cassie misses him, too. For all their scuffles, they did sometimes lay across the bed, within a comfortable distance, taking in the sun. Like they did to Queequeg, the NY Squirrels are torturing Cassie through the window.
