In the midst of all this, why baseball?

You'll find politics, education, art and baseball...and the latter because it is a source of joy. Seen past the commentary to the players and their work, watching a baseball game is like watching any great performance. In their own world and context, there are several players who, like radio hosts Mike Malloy, Randi Rhodes and Sam Seder, keep me sane just by BEING who they are.
